Software Library and Version Control Manager - IRES - Huntsville


The position is located in Huntsville, AL on the IRES contract supporting the Missile Defense Agency. The Software Library and Version Control Analyst is responsible to manage the library of software assets for the IRES contract. This position is responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities: ensures the Configuration Management Database Product Catalog is complete, accurate, and up-to-date; researches vendor website and other resources to discover new versions of approved software products; initiates Information Assurance reviews for new software versions which have not yet been evaluated; advises software licensing, maintenance contracts, and various cybersecurity departments on software products and/or versions which are no longer supported or manufactured, to include current installations of these products and versions; advises end-users of available versions for their licensed products, instructing them on submitting requests for upgrades; consistently categorizes each software product by function, license type, installation target type (client, server, etc.), and other pertinent details; manages the physical and electronic library of software products, aligning inventory with approved software listings.



Requirements : BS Degree and 8 years general experience, including 6 years directly related experience and 3 years management or leadership experience. DoD Secret Clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required. Knowledge of IT support requirements, techniques and applications to manage an inventory of technology-related assets. ITIL Foundations v3 Certification (required within 6 months of hire). Ability to learn new subject matter quickly and absorb relevant processes and process changes in real time. Excellent written and oral communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Possess a quality driven, customer focused mindset and a can-do attitude. Motivated self-starter with the ability to identify issues and work to resolution through the appropriate channels. Ability to work well as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Desired : Experience in Software Management and/or IT Operations.Experience in Software Asset Management or Software License Compliance strongly desired.BMC Remedy experience (Asset Module). Experience in any of the following areas a plus: IT operations, process engineering, service transition, service delivery, change management, asset management, configuration management, customer service.
