Position: Structural Technician II

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Position Status: Contract/2 Months

Summary Description of Position:

The Structures Mechanic will fabricate, repair, replace and rebuild aircraft parts and structures on fixed and rotary-wing aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.

Major Responsibility Areas and Duties:

  • Perform structural repairs and modifications in accordance with approved technical data and regulations.

  • Assist with the generation of accurate design documentation and drawings, and interface with engineering on required changes.

  • Ensure proper documentation is generated for all items removed from aircraft.

  • Certify all work completed.

  • Lead and/or support customer design reviews and presentations.

  • Assist other team members as needed.

  • Be constantly alert for defective, worn, or failed parts and new parts which fail to meet approved specifications.

  • Keep workplace clean and organized.

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor necessary for the normal day-to-day operation, not determined at time of hire.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • FAA Airframe Mechanic Certificate

  • 5 years’ experience performing aircraft modifications

  • Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Drawing Interpretation — Must be able to utilize mechanical drawings.

  • Mathematics — Using mathematics to solve problems.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional hangar-type environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment used for aircraft maintenance and modification.
