Job Description: BMDS Systems Engineer (784) The Systems Concepts and Requirements IPT of the National Team is seeking individuals who are creative and think-out-of-the-box to support end-to-end functional and behavior analysis within the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) mission area and to expand concepts and capabilities for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Candidate will perform functional analysis of the BMDS utilizing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools to support development of system engineering products for MDA. Individual will work within a focused workgroup with other subject matter experts to analyze this mission space and formulate functional requirements for system-of-system level specifications. Individual will work in a cross-discipline product team and routinely interface with other National Team groups, technical leaders, and government personnel performing analysis tasks. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings for critique and review by SC&R and National Team stakeholders. Candidate’s on-the-job performance may lead to assignment in more senior roles. This position is located in Huntsville, AL. Required Skills: 6 years experience in a technical background in requirements development to include use of DOORS and a requirements modelling tool such as “System Architect,” “Rhapsody,” “Magic Draw” or similar tools. Demonstrate knowledge of one-or-more of BMDS or similar capabilities : EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Experience with critical thinking to capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions. Excellent communication skills and work both independently and within a small team environment. Active Secret security clearance. Desired Skills: Experience with systems engineering generating system-of-system level specification requirements and interface documents. Experience in writing interface control documents to prepare, organize, and present briefings/demonstrations to senior Government Customer and Industry leadership. Master’s Degree or PhD.
