POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is seeking aProject Engineer to support Targets and Countermeasures (TC) programs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated capabilities and experience in missile systems and technical program planning and coordination.Primary duties include providing integrated technical and programmatic assistance to the target group Chief Product Engineer and Program Manager over the target life cycle - target system design, development, assembly and integration, system test and missions. Candidate will provide direct assistance to the Government Customer monitoring MDA prime contractors to ensure contractor activities and products meet program requirements.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide inputs to the Government Customer’s program plans and technical requirements
Review Prime Contractor plans for sound technical approaches than meet requirements within the program schedule
Assess Prime Contractor performance to plan
Participate in strategic planning sessions to work schedule and resource issues
Represent the interests of the customer in Failure Review Boards, Working Groups, IPTs and Engineering Review Boards and Technical Interchange Meetings
Identify and contribute to the resolution of highly complex engineering issues that can involve multiple engineering functional areas
Review and provide comments on assigned Prime Contractor Objective Evidence in support of major milestone reviews (e.g. SRRs, PDRs, CDRs)
Develop briefings and decision packages intended for senior leadership
Travel to contractor and test locations CONUS/OCONUS (approximately 20% travel)
Must hold an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher
Must have a BA or BS degree with focus inEngineering/Science/Math/Physics
15+ years related experience with missile and space component/system design, test and evaluation
Experience with Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic Missile Defense System, and/or Targets and Countermeasures (TC) Program Office is desired
Capability to develop and present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel
Familiarity with acquisition and systems engineering processes
Experience with Microsoft tools (e.g. MS Word, Project, PowerPoint)
Ability to begin performing with minimal supervision
