Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Materials Science Research Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
A successful candidate will work closely with a highly technical multidisciplinary team to design, develop, characterize, and support the scale-up and commercialization of advanced materials.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing material development work, studying processing factors, and characterizing materials by a variety of analytical techniques; optimizing manufacturing systems, methods and processes for the development of a variety of hightemperature materials in different forms.
Master Degree in Materials Science / Engineering, or a related field is required.
Along with 2 years of hands on research expereince in the fields of material synthesis, chemical, mechanical, and chemical characterization, and failure analysis of high-temperature materials.
Technical knowledge in manufacturing process development and characterization of high-temperature materials.
Knowledge of CVD processes and chemistry especially in high temperature materials systems.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines, and the pressure of handling multiple projects and assignments. Must be willing to take ownership, love to take challenges, have the ability to overcome technical barriers, and be self-motivated.
PhD in Materials Science / Engineering or a related field is preferred or ABD.
Strong work ethic and a positive team player.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment or independently.
Experience with technical documents and proposal or report writing is required.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
