Collaborates with other cybersecurity, information technology, aerospace operations, physical access and manufacturing operations and safety personnel to develop a comprehensive secure industrial control systems (ICS) cybersecurity program to mitigate risks to agency systems that include critical infrastructures and systems.

Provides advice on designing, configuring, and maintaining industrial control systems such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, distributed control systems (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Coordinates the implementation of security programs across platforms and establishes vulnerability reporting criteria. Develops, reviews and evaluates security incident response policies. Identifies the need for change based on new security technologies or threats. Tests and implements new policies; institutes measures to ensure awareness and compliance.

Integrates security programs across disciplines.

For the GS-13 grade level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service, which equipped the applicant with the competencies required to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes utilizing in-depth knowledge of the information technology field while responding to industrial control system threats and incidents; designing IT security solutions, or managing cyber security tools in support of an IT Security program that included both corporate and ICS networks; or, investigating incidents in an industrial control system to rule out and/or identify cybersecurity causes.

IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies below:

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
