Leidos Electrical Engineer in HUNTSVILLE, Alabama


The Leidos Defense & Intelligence Group is searching for an Electrical Engineer in support of our SS-AISR program located in Huntsville, AL.

As the Electrical Engineer you will assist the Chief Engineer (CE) in performing/ managing all applicable technical program initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate cross functional efforts to accomplish assigned tasks and will be responsible for leadership activities as required. Employ standard methods, processes and tools to accomplish analysis, problem diagnosis and solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning, and cost evaluation assessments for technical proposals.


-Perform requirements analysis, system design, system integration, functional testing, and associated documentation, as well as providing deployment and system assessment support (to on-aircraft site surveys) as needed.

-Lead ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) response efforts, leading Leidos and Subcontractor team solutions to challenging technical upgrades for PME (Primary Mission Equipment) /MEP (Mission Equipment Packages) on both airborne and ground ISR assets. Includes familiarity and coordination to develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for new opportunities.

-Serve as a technical interface with government customer personnel to provide timely responses to questions, perform collaborative planning, review deliverables, and resolve engineering issues.

-Provide technical, architectural/ engineering and obsolescence management support to the Leidos Logistics and Procurement teams. Field questions about correct parts to order, prioritization of parts in a Bill of Materials (BOM) or related listing, and support the program obsolescence management process, relative to characterization of ongoing risk assessments and resultant decision making.

-Provide technical, architectural/ engineering support to the Leidos Information Assurance Team, to help enable certification and accreditation of PME (Primary Mission Equipment) and other IA activities as required.

-Support all Engineering Review Board (ERB)/ Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings as required.



-A Bachelor's degree in applicable Engineering discipline, and four 4+ years of progressively more complex experience in the design, development, and integration of aircraft engineering projects

-An existing/active Secret Level Clearance is required

-Practical knowledge of electricity especially relating to wiring diagrams and aircraft harness assemblies, and the parts required to build or repair one

-Collaborate with Engineering team and be able to produce schematics and diagrams

-Practical use of AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) tool

-Management of Airborne ISR modification technical data

-Demonstrated Project Management expertise (Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus)

-Familiarity with the full Configuration Management (CM) lifecycle

-Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

-Detail oriented, with excellent oral and written communications skills

-Strong “Team First” orientation

-Software design & development, Electrical schematics Quality Assurance, Aircraft certification: FAA and/or US Army.

-Background in FAA Airworthiness qualification requirements (to coordinate AWR approvals for H/W mods).

-Experience using Microsoft Visio

-Experience with ISR King Air 300 Series Aircraft.

-Experience with PME/MEP Simultaneity and Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) SATCOM architectures

-Business Development and proposal authorship background, to enable expansion of existing as well as pursuit of new business opportunities

-Active TS/SCI Clearance
